Low Fin Tube ASME SB111 C70600 Copper Nickel Alloy Base Tube
Low fin tubes are a type of heat exchanger tube that feature relatively short, integral fins on the outer surface of the tube. These fins are typically formed directly from the tube material and provide an increased surface area for heat transfer while maintaining good structural integrity. Low fin tubes are used in a variety of applications where enhanced heat transfer is needed without significantly increasing the overall tube diameter.
Low fin tubes are valued for their ability to provide enhanced heat transfer while maintaining a compact design. They are used across a wide range of industries and applications where efficient thermal management is critical.
ASME SB111 UNS C70600 O61 Copper-Nickel (also known as cupronickel) alloy has good corrosion resistance to seawater and good fabricability. The addition of nickel improves strength and corrosion resistance while allowing the alloy to remain ductile. Other elements increase strength, corrosion resistance, hardening, weldability and castability. The Copper-Nickel Alloy has been widely used for marine applications. UNS C70600, known as Copper-Nickel 90/10, is alloy with 90% copper and 10% nickel, which has been widely used in the automotive, shipping, offshore, power generation and so on.
ASME SB111 UNS C70600 O61 Copper Nickel Alloy Intergral low fin tubes are widely used as heat transfer tubes because of their large external surface area and high heat transfer performance compared with a plain tube. Low Fin tube is a type of Extruded Fin Tube consisting of small low fins. The low fin tube is similar to the extruded “high fin” types but these tubes have the same diameter as the base tube. Low Fin Tubes can be used in standard shell and tube baffles and tube sheets. The primary advantage for the low fin tube is providing surface enhancement and better heat transfer over smooth tube.
